John Monteleone’s research interests lie in moral psychology, philosophy of mind, ethics, and philosophy of action. Much of his work has been on the emotions. Here he has published about the role of desire and attention in an emotion, whether emotions facilitate knowledge of values, and what makes emotions comparatively deep or superficial. More recently, John has also written on the nature of skillful action and whether one can ever exercise a skill without being aware of doing so.
