Kate Costello SullivanKate Costello-Sullivan,聽笔丑.顿.,听director of Le Moyne’s Irish Studies program and professor of modern Irish literature, is among聽聽later this year. Inductees from a number of different fields are being inducted, with Costello-Sullivan honored for her long-time contributions to education.

“This was a completely unexpected honor, and it means all the more to me because聽I was nominated聽by a member of the Syracuse Irish-American community, said Costello-Sullivan. 鈥淚’m grateful聽for the myriad ways Le Moyne has enabled the Irish program to share the history, literature and culture of Ireland and Irish America.鈥

She is a former聽president of the American Conference for Irish Studies – the largest academic Irish organization in the world – and since 2018 has served as the (first female)聽s别谤颈别蝉听editor of the Syracuse University Press鈥檚 prestigious Irish line, the oldest line of its kind in North America.

Inductees will be honored at the Annual Irish American Hall of Fame Awards Gala on Saturday, April 25 at聽the Irish American Heritage Center on Chicago鈥檚 Northwest side.聽Now in its 14th year, the Irish American Hall of Fame is national in scope and operated under the auspices of the Irish American Heritage Center. Over 100 nominations were considered from throughout the U.S. and a rigorous screening process applied to name the final inductees.
